Debora documents a journey. It is the journey of the spiritual warrior, a contest with the self.
Beginning with a draw of runes, ancient Viking symbols, she devises a structure. Teiwas or
Warrior, denoting Tiw, the Sky God, is the first rune drawn. Ansuz, or Signals, is followed by
Fehu, Possessions, Ehwaz, Movement, Isa, or Standstill. The last rune drawn is Dagaz, or
Breakthrough, to name the discovery strategy and to give an overall sensibility to the course,
finalize the outcome. Each rune informs and objectifies the journey.
Rune divination originated from the Eddas around 1200. These oracles are a symbolic language
drawn from resonating ideas. Each is a marker, a touchstone, a divining tool, a means to draw
out and inward an archetypal, universal journey of discovery.
An amalgam of different technologies, Debora’s work projects actualisation, the cumulation of
her discovery process, her revelation.
